Michiganders pay the highest energy rates in the Midwest, but we lose power more often and for longer, than anywhere in the entire country. That’s why we need a Ratepayer Bill of Rights that that would put Michigan families and small businesses before Big Utilities.

A Bill of Rights for Ratepayers would:

• Guarantee fair compensation when the power goes out • Protect Michiganders from paying for CEO bonuses and private jets, while we’re kept in the dark • Ban political contributions form utilities to state lawmakers supposed to oversee them • Guarantee residents can generate our own, clean energy.

That’s why it’s urgent to tell our representatives that we need a Bill of Rights for Ratepayers that would ensure that Michiganders no longer pay higher costs for the worst service.
