Call MI Reps: Defend Same Sex Marriage

Details

Even though the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage in 2015, Michigan still has a ban enshrined in its constitution. Senate Joint Resolution F would further protect same-sex marriage in the state by removing the definition of marriage as a union between a man and a woman, and replacing it with gender-neutral language. Because Members of Congress and at least one Supreme Court Justice have suggested revisiting the issue, Michiganders need to make sure that the ban in our Constitution is never brought back. Since the both the Michigan state senate and the house of representatives would need to call for a constitutional amendment, we need to urge both our state senators and house representatives to support Senate Joint Resolution F.
